Respecting Self and Others
Relates to citizenship and involvement necessary for all grades and subjects

This blog is intended for grades 7-12, and its aim is to discuss perceptions of students who are disrespectful in the classroom both to their teachers and peers. There seems to be a disconnect in the respect that teachers feel that they deserve and that to which they feel they are receiving from their students. Also, all students have varying views on respect and courtesy, and this seems to be controversial when mixed together and confined to a classroom for five days at a time. With this blog, I want to see how students perceive the respect, or lack thereof, in their schools.

Respect

As a teacher I see a lot of disrespect from my students both to me and to classmates. I also see how a lack of self-respect often leads to other discipline problems in class. I am interested to hear what you, as students feel about this issue. I would also appreciate it if you could respond to the questions regarding respect in schools, that are located to the right on this blog.
